Michelle is Creating With Paper - Holidays, here we come!

Well, Autumn is on Thursday, before we know it, Halloween will be spooking up on us, then we will be giving Thanks for a glorious year, and then, SANTA!

I just wanted to do a short post today as my husband and I are "re-arranging" and improving my craft room.  It is filled to the gills and I want it more efficient, so today we are packing it up and moving it into our Master Bedroom for a couple days.  Right now, we are just doing the re-arranging portion, then hubby will build me a desk area.  We scoured so many sites for ideas and loved the IKEA ideas, but he wants to make it custom for me.  Isn't he just the sweetest?  Luckily he has the tools and the talent to build an awesome work area.  By custom, he wants it modular, because my room is also our guest room.  So, we have to have it easy to take apart yet sturdy enough to handle all the crafting I do!

I will share some projects here that I have done for some challenges.  I am planning on my first workshop in October probably on the 2nd, so I guess I should figure out what to do!  Hope to combine some Halloween and Christmas things.  There are so many cute, cute punches, dies and stamps in the Holiday catalog, I am getting overwhelmed with what to offer my customers and friends!  Oh well, I will figure it out...

For October, Stampin' Up! is preparing their demonstrators for a pretty neat deal, so keep your  Looking-eyes-clip-art-0521-1102-0513-1231_TN
on the blog.  I will be posting the fun as soon as we have all of the information - but I promise you it sounds like a great deal for all!

Here are just a couple projects I worked on recently.  Had so much fun doing them.  Some are Stampin' Up!, but there is one that is from a class I took at Michaels.  I hope to re-create it using some of the new Holiday DSP that I recently received.  Enjoy!

Santa card September #3
For our 3rd September challenge we were to choose a PIN that we liked and adapt it to our own.  Tami White used the cable knit folder for a cardigan sweater that is stinkin' cute, so I adapted it for Santa.  I used Real Red card stock, Black Glimmer Paper (from last years Halloween stash), Gold Shiny Paper, Pink Pirouette card stock, Pretty Pines Thinlits, 1/4" hand held punch for berries.  For the fur on his coat and hat, I used a medium called Snow-Tex, and his beard is a Cotton Ball!  I think he is pretty stylin'!

Sept challenge 1

This was September challenge #1.  We had to use at least three out five colors listed.  I chose Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, and Delightful Dijon and card is made from Very Vanilla.  Thoughtful Branches Bundle, Thankful Thoughts stamp set and Petal Bursts Textured Folder were fun to work with.  I still love the Thoughtful Branches bundle.  It is sooo awesome.

Sept challenge 2
This was our #2 challenge.  We were given two examples of templates and we used inspiration from either one to develop our own card.  Halloween Night card stock, Basic Black card stock, Halloween Night Specialty Designer paper, Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp set, Cookie Cutter punch, Basic Black Solid Bakers Twine and the Pumpkin Pie Marker were used on this card.

Sept 2 weekly challenge

Again, another challenge - these are great because it get you in and doing some creating.  It challenges your imagination.  This is a weekly challenge I participate in most of the time.  There have been times, I just couldn't find the time, but I am making a much bigger effort to do these weekly.  Good for the soul.

Here I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions folder, Retired Vintage Leaves stamp and framelits, Thankful Thoughts Stamp set, Sahara Sand card stock, Early Espresso card stock, Cajun Craze ink, Retired Pumpkin Pie cotton ribbon, and Large and Small Oval punches (both retired).  Very sad to see the oval punches retired.

Halloween tags from Michaels blog
These are the two house tags that we made at a Michael's class.  We have a great papercrafting teacher and we love to use inspiration from our favorite "Vintage" (her style, not her age!) paper peeps, Ginny Nemchak.  I love doing Vintage things, and hope to incorporate some Stampin' Up! embellishments and papers on some future projects.

Well, that is all for me this week!  We are going to visit Granddaughters and new Grandson in less than 24 hours.  I am very excited to meet Jackson Shedoudy.  He will be two months old on Monday!  He is such a cutie patootie.

Have a great weekend all, and remember to make time for "Creating With Paper!"
